The Program

Work and Travel USA provides students with an opportunity to work in USA and thereafter travel for a month. Through working in USA, student will be exposed to the cultural differences and be able to achieve a global education that they will never be able to learn from classroom teaching. This experience that they gain will definitely put them in good stead for their future career as they would have demonstrated their ability to live, adapt and work in a foreign country.

The Work and Travel Program includes:

• Students having a guaranteed and secured work placement before arrival.

• Students receiving the same compensation for their work as their counterparts in the United States.

• Students will receive assistance in finding housing.

• Students being issued a DS-2019 form by IntoEdVentures which will allow them to secure a J-1 visa.

• Students being enrolled in a *comprehensive health insurance plan for the duration of their stay in the United States. Students will be supplied with insurance identification cards, insurance brochures, and insurance claim forms prior to their departure.

• Students being given a pre-departure orientation where they will be given information on topics such as obtaining social security cards, obtaining housing and dealing with cultural issues in the United States.

• Students being supplied with program identification cards, a program handbook, access to tax refund service and an emergency phone number that is monitored 24 hours a day.

• Providing free assistance for purchasing air tickets if required though not mandatory.

* FREE 2 months insurance, additional months of stay will be borne by participants (est. $35/mth)

What Jobs To Expect

Examples of jobs you expect to find: server, busser, rides operator, housekeeping

For jobs such as server and housekeeping, you can expect to receive tips as there is a tipping culture in US, which can help you to earn more income. The tips received as a server is around 15-20% of the total bill and as for
server, around USD5-10 a day.

Who is Eligible?

Eligibility for the program:

• Full-time college and university students

• At least 18 years of age and under 30 years old

• Intermediate level of English

• Minimum 8 weeks of work

•Able to bring a minimum of USD500 for living expenses during the start of their stay

Our Cancellation and Refund Policy

1. Cancellation before acceptance of Job – Deposit of SGD250 will be forfeited

2. Cancellation due to visa – Deposit of SGD250 will be forfeited.

3. There will be no refund after acceptance of job.

4. In the event that there is no job available, a full refund will be given.

Note: Visa and SEVIS are non-refundable in all situations.
